5 reasons being pregnant rocks VS 5 reasons being pregnant sucks
18:00
Us editors at Oh Lilla magazine LOVED being pregnant and the majority of woman we speak to say they loved it too. Obviously it has it's down sides and so we've dived a little deeper and written a list of the cons and the pros! I think we'll start with the cons:
Five reasons pregnancy sucks
1. YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING.
That may be a little exaggeration.. I guess. But being pregnant makes the littlest of tasks a hundred times harder. For example, putting on your shoes. Who knew that could be so hard? It doesn't help that as times ticks along you end up not even being able to see your feet. Turning over in bed feels as though you've just ran a marathon. Oh and don't even attempt to shave your legs or your private area, that just isn't going to happen!
2. YOU ACHE.
Literally everywhere. You ache in places you didn't even know you could ache in.
3. FAT.
and I'm not talking about the bump itself. I'm talking about hands and feet swelling up to the size of sausage balloons. Rings don't feet, shoes feel tight. Feeling fan-blooming-tastic!
4. CLOTHES.
Nothing fits! Maternity clothes just don't come in the right colour and the right shape for what you're looking for, plus it feels like a wasted purchase when you don't know the next time you're going to be needing to wear them.
5. WAKING UP TO PEE.
After tossing and turning (running a marathon) all night long trying to get comfortable, you're then rudely awoken by the fact you need to get up to go pee for the gazilionth time! Oh the joy!
Five reasons pregnancy rocks
1. BOOBS.
We'll just go straight for number one with that one. Boobs, boobs and more (bigger and better) boobs.
2. KIND PEOPLE.
I'm not sure why but it seems as though people are kinder when you are pregnant. You are offered to sit down when possible, offered water, offered help with everything, able to take breaks when needing to. Older people tend to stop you and ask if they can touch your bump.
3. SLEEP.
It's the no.1 reason to sleep (if it's your first baby, that is). Use the good ol' "I need to make the most of my sleep whilst I can" excuse.
4. EXCITEMENT.
This goes without saying, but pregnancy is a mix of emotions. But one of the best feelings is that lead up! The excitement, the planning of the nursery, looking up names, the suspense of what they're going to be like, how they're going to look, how the birth is going to go, when the birth is going to be. It's all just SO exciting!
5. MOVEMENTS.
The most strangest but wonderful and natural feeling in the world. Feeling your little human kicking around inside your stomach. Perfect.
I personally feel as though the pros definitely outweigh the cons. I really enjoyed being pregnant. I felt my happiest and my prettiest (even if I was my largest). How was your pregnancy? Did you feel at your best or was it a nightmare?
